Treonta Gray said that she "cried all night" after hearing Chris Rock's blunder of a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's hair condition during the Oscars.
She went on to her social media platform and said:
"I was in the restroom crying because it ain't no joke," She said. She was diagnosed with alopecia areata. “It ain't something you're supposed to make a joke about. Women, we wake up one day, we got a hair full of hair. The next day, we're going bald."
In reaction to the joke, Will Smith, decided to get physical.
"Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally. I would like to publicly apologize
to you, Chris."
She also went on to say that she is angry about the fact that she can no longer wear braids and ponytails. Little does she know, it may have been these hair style practices that contributed to her hair loss.
Getting Braids leads to tension and build up on the scalp. The tension will take out hair directly and the build up will cause the hair to not come through the follicle.
Wearing tight hairstyles including ponytails and buns will cause extra tension on the hair.
Hair loss can also come from stress as well. If you are under mental or physical stress, hair growth will stall or completely stop.
